After working for 6 years in Taiwan Benz, the oldest son of Siripron, came back to Thailand. On Friday 16 May Siripron, Fern and I went to Udon Thani Airport to get him. Benz is now busy with his application to go again to work in Taiwan because there the salary is much better than in Thailand but he can only go if the Taiwan agent will find work for him and Benz want to work in a factory, preferable with overtime.

Family, Benz, Mango’s and more…
On Friday 2 May Mudmee had to visit the doctor at the hospital in Sakon Nakhon for the test results and I’m happy to say that it was not cancer !!! Mudmee is now doing very well. But 1 day later brother-in-law Glen went to the Udon Thani hospital for a neck surgery: 3 discs were fixed together. On Monday, 2 days later Glen was home again and now 3,5 weeks later he can say the surgery went well but not all the (side) effects are gone, he still got some numbness/tingling is his left hand.

The Annamai, nurses post, of Siripron organized a few walk/run/cycling events in the surrounding parts of village. The last one was on Saturday 17 May in our neighbor village Ban Thon (Moo.1) and I walked that (early) morning the 5 km. But my walking shoes where really dried-out and during the walk I lost both soles of the shoes…
In May the official “rainy season” started and we had our fair share of rain. But not only that started, also our four mango trees are hanging with ripe mango’s and we have 3 different kinds: the green/yellow kind, the bigger yellow/orange kind and the small tree with purple mangos. It’s very difficult to estimate the numbers but I can say “total more than 200 fruits”. So, every day after lunch and dinner we eat them and Siripron made the first batch of mango compote (8 old jam pots filled).
Other things that happened:
– We visited the house of Warunee a few times to see Mudmee & Glen.
– Our septic tanks were emptied by the cleaning truck,
– Siripron went with Fern to look for eatable insects.
– After a flat bike tire I went to a shop in Udon Thani for completely new tires.
– On 12 May was Visakha Bucha Day.
– Nephew Mie held a Remember for his Papa with food & music, Siripron helped.
– Siripron went with Benz & Fern to find mushrooms.
– Lunch at the German restaurant and my normal shopping with them.
– I went to Bangkok hospital in Udon Thani for my yearly eye test.
– On 30 May I recieved my new credit card (after 6 weeks waiting).
– We had a few times without electricity after rain/storm.
– Siripron went a few times to the rice field to check.
– I had to mow the lawn a few times because the grass grows fast with the rain.
