So, this year Songkran, the Thai New Year and Water festival, was a bit different. For us Both stayed in Bangkok but nephew Tanakrit and his family visited brother Arun a few days but there was not a big family party. On Tuesday 15 April there was music and a foam machine at the community building. On Wednesday Siripron and I went to the Temple to do the “water ceremony” to the statues and to the family tombstone. Later that day we celebrated the Birthday of Mudmee & Mudmai and there was a “rope ceremony” with people of the village for Mudmee.

Mudmee, Songkran and more…
On Monday evening 7 April Mudmee, one of the twin daughters of Warunee, was brought to the hospital of Sawang Daen Din because it looked like she had a kind of attack. The next day she was brought in an Ambulance to the hospital in Sakon Nakhon. After a MRI they discovered a very small lump in het brain. On Friday afternoon Mudmee had a successful operation and on Sunday 13 April (Songkran day 1) Siripron and I could visited her in the Hospital. To our surprise Mudmee came the next day already home. At 2 May she have to go to the doctor again and then the test results will also be known.

In April I received a message from my Dutch ING bank that my credit card was temporary blocked because of a reservation of “zero” Euro from Walmart Canada. I had to call a Dutch phone number and during that call my credit card was permanent blocked. I will receive a new card. And because a problem not comes alone my ATM card from my Thai bank had a problem because it was expired. So, I spend again a part of a morning to get a new ATM card, now valid until March 2032,
At the rice field we were “waiting” for rain because the ground was to strong to plough it and Siripron had to remove the weed. After that was done the truck could come, later together with family Siripron could “feed” the lower part of the family rice fields with “old” rice, later she will plant small rice plants on the higher parts of the rice field.
Other things that happened:
– Siripron and Wannapa visited family in hospital of Udon Thani.
– Boss & Den repaired a hole in our roof, water was coming to the ceiling behind.
– Lunch at the German restaurant and my normal shopping with them.
– By a App I could do my “alive” message for one of my private pensions.
– Mowing the lawn was at the start of April more removing leaves.
– April had really warm days but ended with some very welcome rainy days.
