Rain, rain, rain, no Bangkok and more…

In my last 2 blogs (July & August) I mentioned that we had a very active rainy season but then there was September. September broke for me the year record. One day we went in our village to the Temple bridge to see water on the rice fields. The rice fields of our family where also again partly flooded and Siripron had to clean some parts. But in the north of Thailand the situation was worse with flooded towns/houses.

Like before mentioned, in Augustus a stone hit my left eye while busy with a grass trimmer, so I went to the Eye clinic of the Bangkok Hospital in Udon Thani. And after that consult I decided to have a laser treatment in Bangkok to remove loose tissue from my left eye ball. But after 3 weeks it looked like the condition improved and I went back to the Eye clinic on 10 September. The doctor saw that, in standing position, the tissue moved down and it gave me a clearer vision. Result: I canceled the trip to Bangkok.

For the building blocks we’ve finished the “none Lego” Harry Potter “Aragog” and I almost finished the extended version of Hogwarts Castle (6,000+ pieces). Some of the smaller “Harry Potter” ones we still have to build together but I have also 2 “big” ones that I will build on my own (one again of “Harry Potter” and a Japanese castle).

For the virtual challenges I walked & biked in America (Appalachian Trail & the Oregon Trail) and I am busy with the last of the fantasy challenges of Harry Potter. I’m of course still busy with the year cycling challenge (Conqueror 2024). So, the first 3 Harry Potter challenges are finished and I already received 2 medals of it and I received all 3 Tomb Raider medals. Now I will have to find space to hang them…

Other things that happened:

– Another Dutch man came to live in our village and I try to help him we several things.
– Siripron went almost every weekend to work on the rice field.
– Both stayed a few weeks home but will start a new job on 1 October in Bangkok.
