House, Songkran, Benz and more…

For the house we had a small list of repairs and we wanted to change the Thai toilet to a “normal” toilet. So the “group of Tiang” came on 20 April to change two broken lights, repair the leaking roof, fixing the sliding front door and to install the new toilet we bought. The list of things we want to change is still there but it’s now smaller…

Songkran had this year an extra day because Government tried to spread the Songkran traffic and Songkran was in the weekend. So from 12 to 16 April Siripron had days-off from the hospital. During these day we did a water blessing with the older people in our village (Ban Pho Chai). We visited Supana & Jan and did a water blessings with Benz, Piauw & Both and Papa. On Sunday afternoon we brought Warunee to Udon Thani Airport, Warunee was going to visit Belgium and Sweden. The last day we did a short visit to Kham Chanot, the Snake Temple, for the blessing of the new (Thai Buddha) year. On Monday evening we celebrated the birthday of Mudmie/Mudmai, the twin of Warunee, and we did a family water blessing.

In the beginning of April we heard that Benz didn’t want to go to school for an extra 2 years and that he was invited to work with the family of a friend nearby Bangkok. So Wednesday, 18 April, Benz went with a car of that family to Bangkok and he is now working in a group of people finishing newly build houses. It’s now a little more quite in the house…

1 April Siripron and I had to go to Bangkok We slept one night in the same hotel where we were staying when getting married in 2015. The next day we went to the Visa Office that was taking care of the translation and certification of my Birth certificate. After that we tried to do a small trip outside Bangkok but that didn’t go good because of the busy traffic around Bangkok… In May we will go to Government of People in Sawang Daen Din to try to get my township registration done.

On 25 April we went to the marriage of Nid (Summer Blue), a niece of Siripron. At the wedding we received a message that John Bridge died. Australian John came to visit us a few times with his son Tony and sometimes I went with John to Pin’s Café in Bandung. Saturday 29 April we went to the cremation of John.

Other things that happened:
– The first summer storms, with rain and many wind, didn’t reach our village.
– There were a few other marriages but most of the times only Papa went.
– We went again to Kham Ta Kla for bread and sausages.
– The house on the other side of the street wasn’t finished before Songkran…
– In April I did 8 geocaches, 1 in Bangkok and 7 in and around Nong Khai.
